I cannot recommend Dr Fionnuala at The Menopause Medic highly enough. After my initial consultation today, I walked away feeling like a massive weight had been lifted. For the first time, my perimenopause symptoms were met with genuine empathy and expert knowledge. Fionnuala helped me understand my body so much better and took away the feeling that I was somehow 'failing.' I left the appointment feeling incredibly positive, hopeful, and armed with a bespoke plan. Most importantly, she made me realize I am not alone. Thank you, Fionnuala!

Dr Fionnuala Barton is genuinely excellent — one of the most thorough and knowledgeable menopause specialists I've come across. She takes the time to properly listen, joins the dots across symptoms rather than treating them in isolation, and always explains the reasoning behind her recommendations clearly. She's a real advocate for women's hormonal health, and nothing ever feels rushed or dismissed. I've felt genuinely supported and taken seriously at every appointment. Can't recommend her highly enough!

After feeling off track with my current HRT programme and struggling with ongoing menopause symptoms, I had an appointment with Dr Barton. I was immediately reassured by her depth of knowledge and holistic approach. We discussed not only the typical menopause symptoms, but also diet, exercise, and overall wellbeing, both for the present and long term. I left the appointment feeling optimistic and confident that, with Dr Barton’s guidance, my HRT plan will be carefully tailored to me. There was no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach; instead, she takes the time to create a bespoke, considered plan that can be adjusted whenever needed. For the first time in a while, I feel reassured that I’m on the right track, ongoing tweaks, annual reviews and support are there whenever I need them.

Our most comprehensive women's health check: hormones, vitamins, advanced thyroid panel, kidney, liver, heart and metabolic markers in one comprehensive panel, taken by a healthcare professional.

The complete picture in a single test. Gain insights to optimise your health before, during perimenopause or after menopause and beyond. In order to ensure an adequate sample is obtained to run this detailed panel, samples are best taken by a trained healthcare professional.

Ideal if you want one thorough test rather than several separate tests, or you are building a complete baseline to track over time.

What it measures: HbA1C, Full Blood Count, Advanced Lipid profile (with Apolipoproteins), Liver health test, Oestrogen, Progesterone, Prolactin, Follicle Stimulating Hormone, Luteinising Hormone, Advanced testosterone (total and free), Advanced thyroid advanced profile, Kidney health, Advanced Iron profile (including ferritin), B12, folate and Vitamin D.

Collection method | Venous: Sample taken by a trained healthcare professional. After your order is placed, the appointment provider will contact you to arrange your blood draw and send you a booking link. Suited to broader panels that need a larger sample.

Your core female hormones oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone plus the key vitamins and minerals that affect energy, mood and bone health, collected by a trained healthcare professional to optimise accuracy.

Hormones and nutrients work together, and a dip in one can mask or mimic a change in the other. This panel pairs the core female hormones with the vitamins and minerals most likely to affect how you feel, so you get a more complete view in a single test. Ideal if you want both your hormone balance and your nutrient levels checked together, especially if you are dealing with fatigue, low mood or low energy.

What it measures: Oestrogen, Progesterone, Prolactin, Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Luteinising Hormone (LH), Advanced testosterone  (total and free), Vitamin D, Ferritin, B12, Folate

Collection method | Venous: Sample taken by a trained healthcare professional. After your order is placed, the appointment provider will contact you to arrange your blood draw and send you a booking link. Suited to broader panels that need a larger sample.

Great for monitoring, this focussed panel checks key hormones that may need optimising if you are already using hormone therapy but still aren’t quite feeling yourself.

Our hormones are constantly trying to achieve internal equilibrium so at times we may need to adjust your hormone therapy to support this more optimally. This panel checks the core female sex hormones to provide clarity and help guide dose adjustments to get you feeling back on track. Ideal if you are noticing changes that might be linked to perimenopause, menopause, your Hormone Therapy (HRT) regime or cycle and you want clarity before booking your next follow up clinic appointment.

What it measures: Testosterone, Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG), Oestrogen

Collection method | Venous: Sample taken by a trained healthcare professional. After your order is placed, the appointment provider will contact you to arrange your blood draw and send you a booking link. Suited to broader panels that need a larger sample.

Track the hormones that matter when you are on or considering Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) or are already using HRT and feel things need to be optimised. Collected at home by a healthcare professional to ensure accuracy.

Hormone replacement therapy is more effective when we know where we are starting from and can track response over time. This panel checks the hormones most relevant to HRT so you and your clinician can see how your levels are responding and adjust your plan with confidence.

Ideal if you are on HRT, about to start, or reviewing your treatment, and want regular insight between appointments. This is a venous sample taken at home at a convenient time for you by a trained healthcare professional. Ideal if you are using transdermal oestradiol or testosterone or your clinician has specifically recommended a venous draw for optimal accuracy.

What it measures: Oestrogen, Progesterone, Prolactin, Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Luteinising Hormone (LH), Advanced testosterone (total and free), Advanced Thyroid Health panel (TSH, T4, FT3)

Collection method | Venous: Sample taken by a trained healthcare professional. After your order is placed, the appointment provider will contact you to arrange your blood draw and send you a booking link. Suited to broader panels that need a larger sample.

A broad health check covering heart, metabolic, liver, kidney, thyroid and nutrient markers, without sex hormones, collected at home by a healthcare professional.

A detailed picture of your cardiometabolic and nutritional health, without the hormone markers. This panel looks at the areas that matter most through midlife and beyond, including heart, blood sugar, liver, kidney, thyroid and key nutrients, so you can spot anything worth acting on early. Ideal if you want a general health overview, or you have your hormones covered elsewhere and want to complete the picture and would rather have your sample taken for you.

What it measures: HbA1C, Advanced Lipid profile (with Apolipoproteins), Liver function test, Active B12, Folate, Vitamin D, Advanced Iron profile (including ferritin),

Collection method | Venous: Sample taken by a trained healthcare professional. After your order is placed, the appointment provider will contact you to arrange your blood draw and send you a booking link. Suited to broader panels that need a larger sample.

Our most comprehensive baseline: metabolic, cardiovascular, kidney, liver and nutritional markers in one panel, giving you and your clinician a full starting point to track against over time.

You cannot measure progress without a starting point. This is our most detailed baseline panel, combining metabolic and advanced cardiovascular markers with kidney and liver health and the key nutrients that affect how you feel day to day. It gives your clinician a complete picture from the outset, and gives you a benchmark to measure every future test against. Ideal if you are beginning a treatment plan, want a thorough health baseline before making changes, or would rather do one complete test than several separate ones.

What it measures: Amylase, Kidney Function, Ferritin, Active B12, Vitamin D, Folate, Glucose, HbA1c, Lipid Profile, Apolipoprotein A, Apolipoprotein B, hs CRP, Uric Acid, Liver Function, DHEAs

Collection method Venous: sample taken by a trained healthcare professional. This is the gold standard as it improves accuracy, reduces contamination risk or test failure and is best for more detailed panels that need a larger sample.

A detailed look at how your body is handling blood sugar, cholesterol, inflammation and hormones, giving you a clear picture of your metabolic health and the markers that matter most for long term heart and health risk.

Metabolic health sits behind far more than weight. It shapes your energy, how well your body responds to the changes of midlife and your future risk of disease. This panel goes well beyond a standard cholesterol check, adding advanced cardiovascular markers, inflammation and key hormones to build a genuinely detailed picture. Ideal if you want to understand your metabolic and cardiovascular risk properly, or you are making changes to your diet, weight or lifestyle and want to know where you are starting from.

What it measures: Glucose, HbA1c, Lipid Profile, Apolipoprotein A, Apolipoprotein B, hs CRP, Uric Acid, Liver Function, DHEAs, AMH, Lipoprotein(a), Vitamin D, TSH, FT4

Collection method Venous: sample taken by a trained healthcare professional. This is the gold standard as it improves accuracy, reduces contamination risk or test failure and is best for more detailed panels that need a larger sample.

A comprehensive hormone and metabolic panel for anyone investigating or managing PCOS, checking the sex hormones, thyroid and blood sugar markers that matter most.

Polycystic ovary syndrome affects hormones and metabolism together, which is why checking one without the other rarely gives the full story. This panel brings both sides into a single test, covering the core female sex hormones, free androgen index, thyroid and the blood sugar and cholesterol markers commonly affected in PCOS. Ideal if you are investigating symptoms such as irregular cycles, unwanted hair growth, acne or difficulty losing weight, or you are already managing PCOS and want to track how you are responding.

What it measures: Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Luteinising Hormone (LH), Oestradiol, Prolactin, Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG), Testosterone, Progesterone, Free Androgen Index (FAI), Advanced Thyroid panel, AMH, HbA1c, Lipid Profile, Glucose

Please note: this panel supports investigation and monitoring. A diagnosis of PCOS cannot be made on blood results alone and should always be made by a qualified clinician.

Collection method Venous: sample taken by a trained healthcare professional. This is the gold standard as it improves accuracy, reduces contamination risk or test failure and is best for more detailed panels that need a larger sample.

A focused follow up panel designed to be taken around three months in, so you and your clinician can see what has actually changed and adjust your plan with confidence.

Three months is long enough for real change to show. This focused panel re-checks the markers most likely to move, covering blood sugar, cholesterol, inflammation, kidney and liver health and key nutrients, so you can see the effect of your treatment or lifestyle changes rather than guessing at it. Ideal if you have already taken a baseline test and want to track your progress, or your clinician has recommended a review before adjusting your plan.

What it measures: HbA1c, Glucose, Kidney Function, Liver Function, Lipid Profile, Apolipoprotein B, hs CRP, Ferritin, Active B12, Vitamin D, Folate

Collection method Venous: sample taken by a trained healthcare professional. This is the gold standard as it improves accuracy, reduces contamination risk or test failure and is best for more detailed panels that need a larger sample.

This test is for adults aged 18 and over. It does not diagnose menopause and does not replace advice from your GP or specialist. If you are still having periods, your results are most accurate when the sample is taken in the first few days of your cycle (around days 2 to 5). Kits are registered with MHRA and EUDAMED and processed at UKAS accredited, CQC registered laboratories.
